Lorraine Cafarella was born in Australia of Dutch parents. She,with her husband John and four children David, Damian, Anne and Jennette reside in Montrose Victoria, Australia.
Lorraine is a member of Ringwood Art Society, which has been a great
source of encouragement to her. She regularly attends the monthly
meetings, where there is always a reputable demonstrating artist.
She is also a member of Sherbrooke Art Society and AGRA (Australian
Guild of Realist Artists). She regulary exhibits at both the Sherbrooke Gallery and
Guild House, Camberwell.
Lorraine is passionate about art and though she paints traditional work,
she also loves a touch of the unusual. As a result, her work covers many styles,
from traditional and representational through to modern contemporary and
abstract.
Lorraine won her first prize in design at the age of 13 and in
recent years has won many awards at R.A.S. in the traditional and
non-traditional competitions.
Mostly self taught, she has recently completed a term under the
tuition of Brian Armstrong, and has attended silk workshops with Christine
Cafarella Pearce.
